German Sports car giants Porsche have set a 2020 launch date for their Mission E concept car, after giving production the go ahead earlier this week. The Mission E will set a precedent for Porsche, becoming their first entirely electric Supercar. Production of the Mission E will usher in a new eco-friendly era at Porsche, which will be a boost to parent company – Volkswagen Group – after the emissions scandal. The car, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year, utilises a lithium battery system that can be charged to 80% capacity in just 15 minutes. Giving the Mission E an impressive 600HP with a range of around 500 kilometres. Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG said: "With Mission E, we are making a clear statement about the future of the brand. Even in a greatly changing motoring world, Porsche will maintain its front-row position with this fascinating sports car." Whilst you won't be able to get your hands on the Mission E until 2020, you can get behind the wheel of one of it's petrol powered siblings on a
