Review of 2011

Trackdays Review of 2011

Now that the year is finally coming to an end, let’s have a look back at what made 2011 a great year for all things to do with Trackdays.co.uk.

January

January was a good month for Experiences as there were a lot of you guys and girls calling up to book in those Christmas vouchers that a lot of you received. The bad weather didn’t seem to deter most, as people came in there droves to get to drive one of the many supercars that were available to drive in January at the few venues that were open.

February

The month of love was another cracking month for Trackdays as even though the British economy was dithering the hardcore trackdayers were still taking their Cars and Bikes to our track days across the Country. Also in February we had a ‘Lover’s special’ offer for Valentines Day – the Westfiled Full Day Experience at £199 for 2 people.

March

The month when most of the venues reopened meant anyone with a Supercar Driving Experience was on the phone to us so they could book in for there experience. We always find that the Chobham Venue is the most popular, which could be down to the location being near London or that the fact that this venue has some of the best cars on offer across the UK.

April

We ran a special offer in April which was the Supercar Choice; here you got too choose one supercar from the selection available and you got to drive around the chosen venue for either 3-4 laps. This experience was only meant to be for a short period of time, but as it grew in popularity we decided to keep it going. Also in April we asked you to send in your videos of you on a trackday or an experience day so we could upload them onto our Youtube Track Days page for everyone to see.

May

We introduced Blyton Park in Lincolnshire as new venue for Experiences and own Car track days, but the Month of May belonged to one thing and one thing only and that was the first date for the new Ferrari 458 Experience! We had unveiled the experience in late 2010 and saw the vouchers fly as everyone wanted to purchase it the perfect gift. The Ferrari 458 with its sleek design and amazing performance meant that whoever was lucky to drive this in 2011 was not disappointed.

June

This is always a busy month for Motorsport as the Moto GP comes to our shores and is held at Silverstone. Here you will see the likes of Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner vying for position around Stowe corner. Once again we had the usual Fathers Day special offers available such as Dads and Lads Tank Driving. Other exciting things that happened in June was the yearly European own Car Trackdays that we run at renowned venues like Spa and the audacious ‘Nurburgring’. These track days always seem too draw a huge crowd and some rare and exotic supercars.

July

Silverstone was the place to be again and this time it was the Formula One Grand Prix. We always see a rise in voucher sales for any Silverstone experience during July and it seems that the experience which sells the most is the Single Seater as everyone wants to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettle. Also in July Goodwood held the Festival of Speed which always brings with it a big interest to our Goodwood Experience page.

August

This was a month that saw the Operations Manager of Trackdays ‘Dan Jones’ take part in the Potty to Prague Wacky Rally were he raised £565.00 for charity. His chariot was a Ford Escort which he bought for £200 and had it sprayed by a local graffiti artist. The Rally would take Dan through 5 different Countries covering almost 2000 miles through some of the scenic landscape the Alps has to offer and some of the best driving roads in the World. We followed his every move from his arrival at Dover Port to him getting lost on his way home from Prague and ending up in Holland! To this day forth he blames it on the Sat Nav, but at Trackdays we all know that he has never been great with navigation!

September

We started off September with a new competition that we ran where you had the chance to win a Drifting track day experience at Santa Pod and a Drift HD170 Stealth to film it on worth £400. All you had to do was ‘like’ our Trackdays Facebook page and you had the chance to win all of the above.

October

We spent a lot of time formulating new Motorcycle Experiences for people who prefer two wheels rather than four, we listened to your ideas and realised we didn’t cater too much for the leather clad fraternity. What we have now is a vast selection of two-wheeled activities for Motorbike lovers to feel the pull of the throttle. We also sold vouchers for take your own Bike track days for the first time and we haven’t looked back as they seem to be out selling some of the Supercar Experiences. We also named the winner of our September competition.

November

Once again more and more experiences went onto the website which meant we were now offering hundreds of new products for you to do. As we had a lot of people enquiring about 4×4 Experiences we decided to scour the Country for new providers running 4×4 events. We also put new Watersport Experiences and new Military Experiences on the website. We also put up our Christmas Special Offers with the likes of the Supercar Double at £125.

December

As always this is one of the busiest times of the Year, customers were buying gift vouchers left right and centre and even on Christmas Day we had customers booking vouchers as last minute gifts.

So now that our last Supercar event is  fully booked and our last Car track day looks to be going the same way we say a big thank you to everyone who has been on any of our events this Year and we look forward to seeing you in 2012. Look out for our monthly news letters were we keep you updated with any news regarding Trackdays.co.uk also follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to get access to great deals and chances to enter our competitions.
